Kirchner, Shmuel

Son of Shoshana and Chaim, was born onthe 28th of Tishrai, November 1, 1929 in Dortmund, Germany. In 1933 he immigrated to Israel with his parents, who settled in Tel Aviv. He studied at the Tachkemoni municipal elementary school and graduated from Moriah religious high school. He had a talent for drawing and painting. He was able to conceal from his teachers and friends his belonging to the Irgun underground and safely passed through the period of detection and persecution. In 1947 he began training in weapons and in 1948 he passed a commander’s’ course. He participated in the defense of the borders of the city and the neighborhoods,Shmuel in actions against the rioters, and among the Etzel forces on Ramle, fell on the 24th of Iyar 5708 (June 2, 1948) and was brought to rest in the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
