Kinori, Shmuel (Sammy)

Was born on April 1, 1960 in Migdal, the Lower Galilee, where he studied at the elementary school in Tiberias, where he studied for four years. When he was 15 years old, Sami returned to the tower and began to work in his grandfather’s farm until he joined the IDF. Sami particularly liked climbing the Arbel cliffs and looking out over the view. He also traveled a lot around the country. In February 1978 Sami enlisted and served in the Engineering Corps. After undergoing basic training, he was sent to a warehouse course and briefly served as a storekeeper. Sami was then sent to a battalion police course and served as a regimental officer until he fell. On the 5th of Iyar 5709 (4.5.1979), on a Simcha vacation, he worked in his grandfather’s farm in the tower, where he led a tractor, and the tractor overturned and crushed Shmuel, 19 years old, when he was killed. Sami left behind his parents and four brothers and sisters, and his unit commander wrote in a letter of condolence to his family: “Shmuel turned out to be a good, devoted, disciplined soldier. He followed exemplary orders. “
