Kind, David-Zvi


Son of Chaya and Yitzhak, was born on January 8, 1926 in Riskova, Romania. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1935. The family settled in Rehovot and there David-Zvi studied at the elementary school, and at the age of 17 he enlisted in the Nutras and then worked in an airport repairing planes. He served in the Givati ​​Brigade, spent a month in Ramah and from there was sent to the village of Uriya, at the same time Arabs attacked the village and he was among those – few against many – who survived despite the Arabs’ advantage in numbers and weapons. His comrades had to retreat immediately because of the intensity of the fire and did not have time to take it with them. His body was lying in the field for 24 hours, and the next day, when his unit could take a second patrol, they found the body five kilometers from the Arab village of Beit Far.
