He was a guide, a labor organizer, and complained about everything that hit the basic principles of the agriculture: inequality, hiring and the party party. He wrote a lot about these sad phenomena. The bloody events affected him and he retired from school a year earlier and devoted himself passionately to economic life and training. He worked as an adult with weapons training and combat practice. At the outbreak of the War of Independence he was attached to a special company in the Golani brigade. He participated in the battles against the Bedouin tribe “Arab al-Zabih” at the foot of Mount Tabor and was among the conquerors of Tiberias, Tzemach police and promised. Took part in the explosion of the Al-Hama road and was among the reinforcements sent to the countries under attack, such as Degania and Gesher. Between battle and battle he would return to his daily work and to the rich Arabs with the youth. The Syrians invaded the Jordan Valley on May 16, 1948, took control of several of the regional authorities, but were stopped by our forces in Zemach. On May 18 the Syrians launched an attack on a plant with the help of artillery and tanks. At first, the town of Tzemach fell, and finally the police station and the defenders retreated under Syrian fire towards Degania. He was seriously injured in this battle, saved by his friends who brought him to Lake Kinneret and from there was taken to a hospital in Tiberias and fought for 10 days. Until his dying day, he regretted the fall of his comrades in the battle, which Ram had fallen into when he was seriously wounded by his classmates. Dan died of his wounds on the 19th of Iyar 5708 (28.5.1948) and was brought to eternal rest in the Kinneret cemetery.
