Kimchi, Tzachi (Levi, Yitzhak)

Son of Avigail Kimchi and Zion Levy. He was born on the 28th of Shevat 5764 (11.2.1964) in Haifa. Tzachi studied in various schools in Haifa. He was a very sensitive boy and his high school teacher noted that he was a student with a poetic and emotional world, who was gifted with writing skills and tremendous dramatic talent. During his studies he was a member of the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement. Family problems (his parents divorced, his mother remarried, and her husband adopted him as a law) made a difference in his sensitive soul. Tzachi was drafted into the IDF in early January 1983 and assigned to the Nahal Brigade. After three months of service, on April 5, 1983, Tzahi fell during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. He left parents, an adoptive father and two step brothers. In his letter of condolence to the family, his commander said that Tzachi “volunteered to help his friends at all times, served as an example and maintained discipline and a high level of soldiers.”
