Kimchi, Moshe
Moshe, son of Simcha and Meir Kimchi, was born in December 1918 in Greece, and when his father died he expressed his wish that the family would immigrate to Eretz Israel. In 1930 the mother took her three sons and her daughter and immigrated. Moshe was a guard and volunteer on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv road and was saved from death several times. He was one of the first to enlist in the Haganah in Jerusalem and served in one of the battalions. Moshe fell on the 10th of Tammuz 5708 (17.7.1948) as he was walking in the Yamin Moshe neighborhood near the checkpoint to look for his brother who had not returned home for 10 days. His body was found five months later and buried in Sheikh Bader B. He left behind a wife and two sons.
