Kimchi, Gil

Son of Chana and Yochai. Was born in Kibbutz Ein Harod Ihud on June 3, 1962. Gil was drafted into the IDF at the end of November 1981. Due to his health, he underwent short-term training and was assigned to the Paratroopers Brigade. He took a three-point course and was assigned as a non-commissioned officer in the unit. He soon turned out to be devoted to his work, responsible, motivated, diligent and thorough. Later on in the army, he was trained to be chief clerk, promoted to sergeant, and was due to attend an officers’ course. On the 5th of Iyar 5743 (18.4.1983), Sergeant Gil fell in his service and was brought to rest in the cemetery in his kibbutz, leaving his parents, an adoptive mother and three sisters.
