Kichler, Ofer David

Ofer grew up in Ramat Gan, studied at the Merkaz Elementary School and at Ohel Shem High School in the biological track. His love for nature characterized him all his life and he used to decorate the walls of his office and his home with nature and landscape photographs. As a child he had many hobbies, some of which accompanied him to adulthood: painting, watching movies with his twin brother Eitan at the Oasis cinema in Ramat Gan, and his participation in the Gadna-Air activity, which was the beginning of his connection with the IAF. Ofer began his military service in the IAF in 1979 as a noncommissioned officer in the Israeli Air Force 27, and later went on to an officer’s course at Training Base 1. Ofer demonstrated excellence and professionalism throughout his professional career, and in 1996 he was awarded a certificate of appreciation as an outstanding officer from the IAF Commander, Major General Herzl Bodinger. Although he was an engineer and a technology enthusiast, Ofer did not abandon his interest in other fields, and in 1996 was authorized to practice Reiki. A year later, he received a master’s degree in industrial engineering and an MBA with honors in business administration from Ben-Gurion University. Ofer was a key partner in the establishment of the TAO division and in the design of the work plans sector and the D-Class Planning Department, a new section established as part of the Lahak Equipment Organization, in which he served in his last position as head of the department, and played a key role in setting up and defining his tasks.
