Khoury, Eliyahu

Ben Julia and Benjamin. Eliahu was born in Tunis on November 4, 1944. In 1949 he immigrated to Israel together with his family. They settled in Safed, where he grew up and was educated. In 1965 Elijah married Olga, and together they built their home in Biriya. In this house they had five children. In 1979 Eliahu joined the ranks of the Israel Police after he lost his sister in a car accident. Thus he found his destiny in life – helping others on the one hand, and maintaining order on the other. On Sunday, 30 October 1989, First Sergeant Eliahu was killed in a traffic accident during the police shift, at the age of forty-five, and he was buried in the Biriya cemetery, leaving a woman and five children.
