Khatokai, Abdul Hamid


Son of Said and Zelekha. He was born on September 1, 1957 in Kfar Kama in the Lower Galilee, as a member of a Circassian family. He studied at the local elementary school. After graduating, he bore the burden of his family’s livelihood. He worked in the building, together with his father, in Kfar Kama and the surrounding area. He also worked for a certain period of time as a cook in Abu-Rhodes. In May 1975 he was obliged to enlist. He passed basic training and was assigned to the infantry. It was not five months since he joined the IDF and he fell in the line of duty on September 28, 1975. He was buried in his native village, and left behind his parents, six brothers and sisters, and in a letter of condolence to the bereaved parents, Hamid’s commander, He was one of the best of our sons and fighters and always wanted to contribute as much as he could. He had the values ​​of a boy born in a free country while serving his country as a victim of a tragic accident. I foresaw Hamid a great future in the unit, but fate commanded otherwise, and so his character remained with us … “
