Khairy, Yaron


Son of Rivka and Jacob. Born in Beer Sheva on February 21, 1969, he spent his early childhood in New York where he graduated from junior high school, where he moved to Kibbutz Ramat David and Yaron continued his studies at the regional high school for valley communities Yizre’el, “The Western Valley” in Kibbutz Yifat, where he played musical instruments, played instruments and composed melodies while in the United States for the first time in three years. In the middle of February 1987, Yaron was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces and was assigned to the Armored Corps, where he completed basic training and studied tank skills. Yaron continued his training in the Armored Corps in the tank commanders course, and at the end he received the rank of sergeant and remained a gardener in the command staff of the Armored Corps School. After a short period of time, he went to the officers’ course Due to a disciplinary problem, Yaron was expelled from the officers’ course. Yaron did not give up his desire to be an officer, and after a while he returned to the battalion 1, receiving a “Birkat Haderech” from his commanding officer, and according to his commander, Yaron was very responsible, flawless, and was a role model for his soldiers and the spirit of the company. On August 12, 1989, Yaron was killed in a traffic accident on the Yavne’el-Kfar Tavor road, and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery at Kibbutz Ramat David, leaving behind his parents, brother-in-law and sister Sarit. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Yaron was a talented and admired commander. Quietly, quietly and modestly, he prepared a generation of commanders for the Armored Corps. Yaron’s desire to be an officer and commander in the IDF repressed the intentions and desires that exist today among our youth beyond military service. ” Yaron was promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant after his death, and his family commemorated his memory in a melody recording composed by Yaron and pieces of music performed by him.
