Kfir, Yael

Daughter of Yaffa and Ben, Tal’s younger sister. “We were blessed with a diligent and honest child,” said the mother, “the fulfillment of all dreams: a young woman who loved life and lived it with all her strength. Yael was a source of pride for her family. A talented student who was interested and excelled in many fields”. She studied at the “Arts” school in Ashkelon. In 2000, Yael enlisted in the IDF and successfully completed a special officers’ course. She served at Training Base 7 (the Central Training Base of the IDF Corps) in Tzrifin as a training officer in the technical training field, and worked seriously, responsibly and loyally, Yael was murdered in a terrorist attack in Tzrifin on the 12th of Elul (9.9.2003) and was raised to the rank of captain after her death. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Ashkelon, leaving behind her parents and sister. For all of us, her family, the pain over Yael’s death is unbearable and has no solace.
