Keren (Kupidlowski), Shmuel-Ya’akov


Son of Yeshayahu and Tzipora. He was born on August 31, 1946 in Germany and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1948. He studied at the elementary school in Pardes Katz and continued his high school studies at the Ohel Shem school in Ramat Gan. He was a member of the “Scouts” movement and went on trips, as he did in his studies. But success did not turn his head, and he never boasted of his achievements, which were impressive. He was devoted to his parents and husband loyal to his wife. He knew how to combine his duties as a son and husband for the joy of his parents and his wife. He had many friends and was always willing to help them. There were many who wanted his friendship. Shmuel-Ya’akov was drafted into the IDF at the end of August 1964. He was an academic reserve and studied chemical engineering at the Hebrew University of Haifa, where he chose the profession of a chemical engineer because he thought it was an undeveloped field in the world of science. He did his military service at one of the military industrial establishments, never complaining about anything or demanding anything, demanding everything he did, and everything he did tried to achieve the maximum, and he succeeded in doing so, thanks to his brilliant talent and healthy logic. On behalf of the Defense Ministry for a period of five weeks and the scientists he met were full of admiration On September 29, 1970, Shmuel-Ya’akov died of wounds sustained in the course of his duties, and he was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
