Kay, Tarrance (Terry)


Terrence (Terry), son of Penny and Victor, was born on September 11, 1952 in Johannesburg, South Africa, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1968. he decided to return to Israel and serve in the IDF Tarrance was drafted into the IDF in early February 1973 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After basic training, he completed a course in the “Centurion” tank and became a liaison. Despite his ideas and reservations about the military framework, he integrated into the life of the unit, became fond of his friends and proudly told about his actions. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, his unit was sent to the Sinai front. On the 6th of Tishrei 5734 (October 6, 1973), Tarzan fell in a battle in the northern district of Milan, opposite the city of Qantara, and his unit tried to connect to the isolated strongholds, but an Egyptian force attacked them. At first Terrence was declared missing, but his body was later identified and brought to rest in the cemetery in Nazareth Illit, leaving behind his parents, brother and sister, and was later promoted to the rank of sergeant About a year after his death, his father died at the age of fifty-six.
