Kaufman, Zalman


Son of Kreindel and Yehuda-Yosef was born on 29.8.1919 in the city of Trnava, Czechoslovakia, and as a member of a Hasidic family, he moved to the Pashcini yeshiva after completing elementary school. He joined the “Torah va – Avodah” movement, where he spent several years, and moved to Budapest, the capital of Hungary, where he lived as an “Aryan” in the movement and his friends. According to a special agreement, they were sent to Spain and eventually transferred to Bergen-Belsen, where he lived in Bergen-Belsen, where he arrived in Switzerland and joined a training kibbutz.
