Kaufman, Ofer David


Ben Hanita and Yehuda. Born on February 27, 1977 in Rishon LeZion, he studied at the elementary school in Mazkeret Batya, where the family lived in the junior high school at the regional school in Gedera, and continued his studies at the ORT high school Ashdod “in the Electronics track, and after completing his studies, Ofer completed his studies as a qualified electronics technician. From an early age, Ofer stood out as a talent for manual labor, and repaired all the electrical appliances of his friends. Thanks to his infinite patience and his aspiration to perfection, he could sit for a long time on a small part of the instrument until he was corrected. Ofer was very devoted to his family and devoted much of his time to his home and family, especially to his elder brother Tzachi, with whom he had a warm and special relationship. Ofer was a quiet, introverted guy with a developed sense of humor and a love of man. He helped many of his friends, who was always surrounded by them, with whom he used to go out, riding a motorcycle, driving and dancing, preferably to Trance, which Ofer loved very much. In September 1996, Ofer enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces and served in the squadron at the Tel Nof base as an electrical technician, and his handling of aviation batteries enabled him to demonstrate his patience and impressive technical ability on the side of his desire to perform his duties always on the best side. (28.10.1998), Ofer fell during his service at the age of twenty-one. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Mazkeret Batya. Survived by his parents and two brothers. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, Chief of Staff Shaul Mofaz wrote: “… Ofer served as an electrical technician at the Tel Nof Air Force base and was described by his commanders as a quiet soldier who fulfilled his missions to their full satisfaction. Ofer was a friendly, quiet and introverted soldier, who always tried to perform his duties with devotion and loyalty and made a professional and respected contribution to the technical handling of the steering systems, the electricity and the devices in the airplanes … “His family set up a memory corner of the Ma’ale Hatorah school in Ma’aleh Adumim.
