Katzenstein, Rudolf (Anelo)


Son of Chana and Julius, was born on the 18th of Elul, September 20, 1913, in the city of Disseldorf, Germany. He studied electrical engineering at the Pritag company, and worked for four years in this profession, in Germany. He immigrated to Israel on October 13, 1935. He worked for 10 years at the ORTRAK company, first in Tel Aviv and then in Haifa. There he married his wife, Sabina, and had a daughter. He lived in Nahariya, and was a member of the Haganah. In the winter of 1948, during the War of Independence, he was involved in providing telephone services to the army forces. On the 23rd of Nissan, May 2, 1948), he was killed during his service, in repairing the telephone lines, on his way to Acco.
He was laid to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
