Katz, Amira
Amira Katz, dauther of Shushu and Teddy, was born in Kibbutz Magal in 1969. As she approached the IDF, she took a pre-military course for female soldiers. She was drafted into the IDF in January 1988 and served as a teacher-soldier in armaments workshops, first in the north and later in a workshop in the center of the country. On October 29, 1989, she was critically injured when a truck hit a base where she served. And a week later, on the seventh day of Cheshvan 5710 (5 November 1989), Amira died of her wounds. She was buried in the military section of the Kibbutz Magal cemetery. Survived by her parents, her brother Roi and two sisters Smadar and Reut.
