Kasos, Jacob


Son of Yehuda and Gamila. He was born on January 3, 1955 in Binyamina. When he was old, his family settled in Be’er Sheva. Here he completed his elementary studies at the Hazon Ovadia School and completed his high school studies in the B high school in the direction of drafting. He was a sports fan and nature. The Maccabi Beer Sheva sports club played soccer. He also enjoyed swimming. Yaakov traveled extensively and toured the country. Yaakov was drafted into the IDF in November 1973 and volunteered to serve in the Paratroopers Brigade After completing his basic training he joined the ranks of the combat soldiers and was a good soldier, dedicated and loyal, and his commanders and friends loved him because he was a friendly, friendly and pleasant person. One month as a civilian, he decided to go back to wearing the IDF uniform. He enlisted in the career army, took a course in the medical corps, and was later sent to a base in the south of Israel, where he was in charge of a medical equipment warehouse. In this position as well, he was shown to be a responsible and devoted soldier, and he fulfilled his duties in the best possible way. His commanders noted him as “an excellent soldier, fulfilling his duties loyally and to the satisfaction of his superiors.” On December 7, 1978, Yaakov was taken to the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva, leaving behind his parents, five brothers and six sisters, and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in a letter of condolence to the bereaved family. “Your dear son served in the regular army. His death was a great loss to his unit, to the IDF and to the people of Israel as a whole. “His family donated a Torah scroll and several holy vessels to a synagogue.
