Kashi, Albert
Son of-George-Ephraim and her mother. He was born on 19.10.1933 in Paris, the capital of France. He immigrated to Israel in 1951 from Iraq, where he graduated from the “Kol Israel Haverim” high school. He was a weaver according to his profession, but before the weaving plant was established in Migdal Ha’emek he worked in agriculture in Nahalal and did all the work with precision and diligence without learning the profession. He had a public and sociable inclination to prove his concern for the lack of work in his town, a new immigrant town, and the lack of development and production enterprises; He prepared a comprehensive and calculated plan in all its details for the construction of a weaving factory for 100 looms for fine and sophisticated handicrafts, rich and decent – a factory that could produce produce in high demand not only in Israel but also outside it. This factory was able to provide about 200 workers directly, apart from those who would make a living by them. He was also interested in other possibilities for alleviating the lack of work (such as small auxiliary households, etc.). He studied science and was preparing for the engineering exams at the Hebrew Technion in Haifa. Was a craftsman by profession and invented many examples of fabrics used by Maskit. He was drafted into the IDF in April 1951. He fell in Sinai during the Battle of Abu-Agila on the 27th of March, 1956. He was buried in the Military Cemetery in Shachal and on 28 Tishrei 5708 (23.10.1957) was placed in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, and a public park was erected in the center of Migdal Ha’Emek, where he worked and developed and dedicated all his interests to his name.
