Born on August 22, 1985 in Be’er Sheva, Dor attended the Psagot Meitar Elementary School in Be’er Sheva and completed his studies at the Omer High School, where he studied in a social program. , Embracing, caring and caring, and always taking care of the family’s well-being, a captivating child who had a regular smile on his lips, and even if he occasionally angered his parents, he could not really be angry at him. His acquaintances defined him as “the salt of the earth” and as a born leader destined for greatness, and in his short life he lived a generation, as if he had lived a generation. “Your parents seem to know that their days on Earth are numbered, so you hastened to do as many good deeds as you can.” Dor was a member of the Scouts movement and an activist in the Meitar tribe. Dor was a handsome boy who grew up to be a charming and noble man, he loved girls and women and they, on their side, were at his door to give him back love. And try to win his heart. Dor loved the land and nature, and whenever he saw him, he would walk and plant the paths of the land. He loved animals and when he ran into an abandoned dog or cat in the street he picked them up, tended them, fed them, and provided them with lodging so they would not suffer from the elements. Armed with enthusiasm and motivation, Dor joined the IDF at the end of November 2003. His aspiration to be accepted into one of the elite units was almost fulfilled when he successfully passed the bumps, but his right hand, which at the age of 16 included platinum in a complex fracture, torpedoed the plans. As a member of the Nahal Brigade, he chose to enlist in the Nahal Brigade, and as a member of the Nahal Brigade he became a leading fighter and a loyal friend. They told of his courage, his constant devotion to the cause and his leadership and comradeship “Their many stories about your leadership, your many deeds, your kindness, your willingness to help and help every human being without any consideration, is a living testimony to your being so special,” his parents recall. On May 22, 2004, Dor was killed while serving in a road accident in the Meitar area near the Shoket junction in the south. He was 19 years old. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Meitar. Survived by parents and sister – Lirit. Six thousand people accompanied Dor on his last journey and testified about a thousand words about the size of his personality and strength. His family wrote in his memory: “To tell about our generation, our dear son, and to say that it was – is still inconceivable … The pain, the anguish, the sorrow at the doom are only intensified every day, as time goes by, longing and longing only grow stronger. From time to time we dream that we will get up in the morning and say to each other that it was just a bad dream, because it did not really happen, and we think that never has been, never! We will not be able to contain a pinch of your actions and actions … We, your parents, sister and friends, should not sink into an overly long-lasting depression and surrender to the fatherI will not persist on you, for this was not your way and your faith in life. The Scouts movement, together with the Meitar Tzahor and Ofak tribes, established a special structure that serves as a memorial game for Dor Kressel and his friend Baruch Segulim, who fell with him.
