Matityahu (Matti), son of Tova and Isaac, was born in Tel Aviv on April 5, 1953. He studied at the Moses Hess Elementary School in Tel Aviv and later continued his studies at the Officers’ School He was a member of the “Scouts” movement in Givatayim, an energetic and active member, who devoted much of his time to the activities of the nest, and was friendly and easy to make friends, easygoing and very patient. , Who is well known for his good humor and was known as an optimistic and Simcha person, sometimes acted mischievous and loved pranks, but knew how to be Matityahu was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of May 1971. After basic training, he was sent to take part in a course for commanders in a non-combat unit, But he “did not accept the evil decree” until he accepted his request to be stationed in the Armored Corps, and was a tank driver in a Tank Tank course at the Armored Corps School. . In his unit he became known as a dependable, obedient, professional man. During the Yom Kippur War, his unit fought in the containment battles on the Sinai front. On the afternoon of the 12th of Tishrei 5734 (October 8, 1973), in the afternoon, Matityahu’s tank was hit during the assault on the Hamutal and Mabat outposts in the northern sector. At first he was considered missing and after a while his grave was found in the Egyptian occupied territory. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents and two sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant. His name was commemorated at the Hashmonaim synagogue in Ramat Gan.
