Karni, Yosef

Son of Shoshana and Yehuda was born in 1906 in the city of Raha (near Tasna), Yemen. The family immigrated to Israel in 1930 and settled in Jerusalem. Yosef worked as a builder. During the siege of the city during the War of Independence was among the people of the “|Mishmar haam” in the Old City. Joseph fell in the line of duty on the 14th of Sivan 5708 (21.6.1948). He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Sanhedria in Jerusalem. Left a wife, “Romia”, six daughters and one son.
