Karni, Itai
Son of Martha and Yeshayahu, was born on July 23, 1964 in Kibbutz Nir-Yitzhak in the Negev. Itai was the youngest of his family. He attended elementary school in his kibbutz and completed his studies at the Ma’ale Habesor high school in biology. In March 1983 Itai enlisted in the IDF and served in an elite unit in the Nahal Brigade. He completed several professional courses, including an armored personnel carrier, infantry, infantry, platoon, and platoon commanders, and was promoted to corporal in January 1984. Eight months later, he was promoted to the rank of corporal Sergeant Itay was a candidate for an officers’ course On December 16, 1984, when he was on the Golan Heights, he was on a military mission on the Naf-West road. On the way there was an accident Itai and a Nahal soldier who was with him in the car. He was 20 years old when he died. He was laid to rest at his kibbutz cemetery, Nir-Yitzhak. Itai left behind his parents, brother and sister.
