Karkuk, Michael


Son of Miriam and Zevulun. Michael was born on July 1, 1925. Michael was drafted into the Border Police. He served in his area of residence, Moshav Zecharia, near Beit Shemesh. Policeman Michael Karkuk fell during his duty on 2 Tamuz, 20 June 1958, in a shooting incident in Moshav Zacharia, in which his wife Zelda was injured. Michael was thirty-three years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Givat Shaul, Jerusalem. He left a wife and four children. Michael is commemorated at the Border Police memorial at the Iron junction and at the police monument in Kiryat Ata.
