Karkon, Camel
Son of Mordechai and Perla. Born in Istanbul, Turkey, on February 12, 1952, he immigrated to Israel with his family in 1964 and studied at the elementary school in Zichron Ya’akov, where he was very attached to his parents and family and often visited his parents’ home. He was an avid soccer enthusiast, who watched the games and even played for himself in his spare time, listening to music in early July 1970. He was drafted into the IDF and assigned to the Signal Corps. On the 22nd of Tammuz 5731 (July 22, 1971), he fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
