Kapprowski, Emanuel


Son of Fania and Jacob. He was born in 1911 in Gedera to parents who immigrated from Russia, studied at the elementary school in the colony and was an active member and an outstanding soccer player in Maccabi Hatzair, who joined the ranks of the Haganah and served as a “special policeman.” Three days after his engagement, on 7 Tishrei, September 20, 1939, when he returned from his vineyards to the moshavah, his cart ran over a mine and he was killed on the spot. He was laid to rest in the cemetery of Gedera at a large funeral. He left a mother and three brothers. The Maccabi Bilu Association in Gedera devoted a special issue to his memory on the 30th day of his death.
