Kapono, Chaya
Daughter of Fortuna and Joshua. Haya was born on January 4, 1950 in the old Caesarea neighborhood of Haifa, at a natural birth at home. Haya was the fourth child in a family of six children: two boys and four girls. The relationship between the children, especially the sisters, was strong throughout the years. Haya was the good and quiet girl, and she had many virtues. Her family says she always forgave and gave up. Already in her youth, she had outstanding acting skills and had the ability to express herself beautifully. Haya used to gather her sisters around her and marvel at the stories of princes and princesses, orphanhood and mystery, all this when she left her audience gaping, waiting for her mouth to come out. For a short time Haya studied ballet and drama, but was forced to stop because of the financial situation at home. She excelled in her studies at school, especially in the humanities. Chaya enlisted in the Israel Police and served faithfully until the day of her death. In adulthood, wonder lives in its special human qualities. Her relatives say that she was an attentive ear to every woman, a warm and loving woman, full of natural humor, and succeeds in making many people laugh easily. Due to her great love for the children, Chaya established a wonderful family and gave birth to three talented children, who grew up with lots of love and giving. Chaya died in agony from a serious illness. First sergeant Chaya fell during her service on the 10th of Av 5756 (10.8.1996). She was forty-six when she fell. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. Survived husband and three children, father and five brothers and sisters.
