Kaplan, Uri


Uri, son of Rivka and Efraim Kaplan, was born on the 26th of Av 5726 (Tel Aviv, 6.8.1926). After graduating from “Tel-Nordau”, he worked in a bank in Tel Aviv. Uri was dedicated to and active in the Haganah. He was a sociable and gentle man and he stood firm on his views. Uri was a member of the “Special Company” and in the Israel Defense Forces he underwent a military police course and served in the Carmeli Brigade. Uri fell in the battle for Ein Ghazal on the 14th of Tamuz, July 21, 1948. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
