Kaplan, Avraham-Dov


Son of Pesachia and Yerachmiel was born on August 23, 1926, in the city of Augustov, Poland. On October 14, 1935, he immigrated to Israel with his parents who settled in Gedera and briefly immersed themselves in the life of the country. He attended elementary school and even finished seventh grade in high school. He was a member of “Maccabi Bilu” in Gedera, and at the age of 17 he volunteered for the British army, although he was exempted from enlistment at the age of 17. In the Sarafand camp, he was outstanding in military performance and served in the Royal Engineers Corps in Israel, Egypt and other countries. After his discharge from the army, he worked for a time in military camps in the south and later as a mechanic in a military camp in Lod and in the Nitzanim group, where he learned about the basics of commerce through the British Institute of Education and was about to complete his exams. In response to the defense of Nitzanim and the training of a youth group that was in place of army training, and continued his service in the Givati ​​Brigade, An armored vehicle driver accompanied by caravans and a course completed his knowledge of the sabotage he had acquired in the British Army, and together with three friends he dealt with the dismantling of a mine in the Tel Nof camp, which was transferred to the Israeli forces and the four were killed. He was laid to rest at the cemetery in Gedera.
