Kant, Arthur


Son of Jacob. He was born in 1904 in Austria and immigrated to Palestine in 1939. He lived in Haifa with his wife Sarah and worked in shoemaking, and during the Second World War he joined the British Army and was assigned to the 606th Cavalry Company, serving in Cyprus and Egypt. On 18 Elul (31.8.1942), he died during his service. He was laid to rest in the British military cemetery in Tel al-Kabir. He left a wife, and his name was immortalized in the Book of Volunteerism, in the Yizkor Book of the Jabotinsky Institute, and in the Journalists’ Book of the Year.
