Kanfo, Chaim


Son of Yaakov and Pircha. Born on the 21st of Kislev, December 23, 1948 in Morocco. The family immigrated to Israel in 1956, and settled in Netivot, in the Negev. He completed his elementary studies at the “Nativ Yitzchak” school, and continued to study at the Torah and Malcha yeshiva in Netivot. After four years of study, during which he excelled, he went to study at the teachers’ seminary in Jerusalem. After two years of study at the seminar, he was sent to Eilat. In September 1968, he was drafted into the IDF. He fell in the line of duty on the 4th of Cheshvan, Octover 26,1968. He was laid to rest at the cemetery in Netivot. In his memory, Netivot established a youth home called Beit Chaim, and a synagogue was named Ahavat Chaim. A booklet in his memory was published by his classmates in Netivot.
