Kami (water) Zechariah

Son of Leah and Shalom was born on 5.11.1927 in the city of Pegreda Elad, Yemen, where he studied in the “cheder.” His dream of immigrating to Israel came true when he was 17. He settled in Magdiel and worked in the orchard. During the War of Independence, he served in the Alexandroni Brigade and participated in battles in the Tel Litvinsky area, Ramat Hakovesh, Salameh village and Hiriya, a quiet, modest and disciplined young man who was about to marry a wife but fell two weeks before the scheduled date for the wedding. (8.5.1948) in the attack on Kafr Kara in Wadi Ara, was severely wounded and while he was fluttering in his agony, a second bullet hit his eye and killed him.
