Kam, Kalman (Kurt)


Kalman, son of Esther and Chaim Kam, was born on 9.10.1923 in Germany. In 1936 he immigrated to Israel with his parents and continued his studies in Jerusalem. In 1939 he joined the Haganah. In 1942 he joined the British army and was sent to work in India, where he married a wife and in 1946 returned with her to Israel and continued to work in Jerusalem as a civilian dental technician in the service of the British army. In the winter of 1948 he retired from his service, enlisted in the army and served in the Jerusalem Brigade. Kalman was hit by an enemy shell and fell on Habashim Street on May 22, 1948. He was buried in Sheikh Bader Aleph on 28 Elul 1950 (10.9.1950) was transferred to eternal rest in the military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
