Kaliman, Eliahu (‘Eli’)


Son of Yosef and Malka. He was born on the 16th of Sivan 5707 (June 4, 1947) in Rehovot. He took part in the Six-Day War. At the end of 1967 he was released, married a wife and established his home in Arad. He worked as a locksmith and was later accepted into the Egged cooperative for work in the garage and driver. During the Yom Kippur War he served as a reservist in the south and ended his service a few months after the war. Eli was loved by everyone. A devoted family man and a model father. An alert and sociable person who took an active part in the life of the community he lived in. On the 6th of Kislev 5739 (December 6, 1978), when he was in reserve service, he fell in the line of duty and was brought to rest in the cemetery in Arad, and left behind a wife, two sons and two parents.
