Kahane, Yaakov

Yaakov, son of Rivka and Avraham Kahane, was born in 1921 in Grohovo, Carpathian Russia (Czechoslovakia), to a well-to-do family. When he immigrated to Israel on January 8, 1940, three months after the outbreak of the Second World War, he went to study in yeshiva. In 1941 he joined the Haganah. Yaakov fell on the 26th of Adar II (April 6, 1948) and was brought to eternal rest in the kibbutz cemetery. He left an expectant wife; his daughter was born after his death.
