Kahane, Nir

Ben Sarah and Baruch. Born on October 25, 1985 in Kiryat Tivon, on 9 December 2004 he was drafted into the Military Police. To serve in a significant role, led him to the checkpoint unit whose soldiers face terrorism in the front lines and to the Qalandiya checkpoint, which was one of the most difficult and dangerous. He always had a smile on his face and a naive innocence. He carried out the difficult operational tasks of the unit in an exemplary and appreciative manner, with great professionalism and with a sense of personal responsibility for the country’s security. Nir was an example of his comrades in the company, his humane attitude toward the population passing through the checkpoint, and the peace and quiet that so characterized him in all his actions. “Nir had many friends and the friendship was one of the values he adhered to: Guy, his good friend, testified:” Nir is a man with a heart of gold And vanish in him, abounding in goodness and concern for everyone around him. Charming, funny, quiet – qualities that are just the tip of the person hiding behind the shy and quiet facade. Who never stopped giving, taking care of and protecting the members. “On the afternoon of 7 December 2005, while he was doing his job at the Qalandiya checkpoint, a Palestinian terrorist attacked the checkpoint and wounded Nir ‘Anoush. Nir lost a lot of blood and died a few minutes later. Nir, 20, was laid to rest in the military section of the Kiryat Tivon cemetery. Survived by parents and two brothers. On his gravestone the law was passed: “There was an angel in his short life: humble, righteous, loving and peace-loving.” After his fall he was promoted to sergeant. After he fell, Nir’s artistic face was exposed in the form of hundreds of spectacular photographs he took and a number of poems he wrote on his personal computer. The Kahana family has decided to establish a prize-making project for young artists who excel in photography and writing poetry. Every year in June, the ORT Tivon School holds a special and exciting ceremony in which prizes are awarded. At this point, the parents spoke: “The love of photography stuck to Nir when he was in 12th grade. The rather basic digital camera we had acquired accompanied him wherever he went. He loved the shadowEspecially landscapes and friends, but did not remain indifferent either to the sight of a beautiful flower, or an interesting insect. Even on the twilight at the Qalandiya checkpoint he did not give up, and after an arduous shift he searched for a suitable location to commemorate them. “No less than a lover of photography, he loved and knew Nir to please and encourage, and therefore we find that this evening, where talented young people perform in the song and in the game and in the awarding project for talented young artists, is a wonderful and worthy opportunity to commemorate Nir.” In memory of Nir, a beautiful visitors’ center was also established at the historic Emek Railway Station near the Elroy neighborhood in Tivon. The historical valley train that connected and bridged the area’s peoples was (and perhaps will be) one of the symbols of coexistence and regional peace – a value in which Nir believed, The warm and pleasant garden symbolizes the serenity, and the natural memory of modesty is symbolized by the warm and pleasant garden that symbolizes tranquility. The broken track reminds us, what a pity, that the path of this young man’s life was cut short when he was ten years old … “
