Kachlon, Eliav Eliyahu Haim
Eliav Eliyahu Chaim, son of Yocheved and David Kachlon, was born in Safed on June 15, 1992. On July 2, 2011, Eliav joined the IDF and served in the Ordnance Corps in the Armored Corps. In June 2014, rocket fire from the Gaza Strip to Israel increased, and as a result, Israel launched Operation Tzuk Eitan against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Eliav was among those killed. Eliav was twenty-two years old when he fell. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Safed, survived by parents, three brothers and four sisters. After his fall, Eliav was promoted to First Sergeant. On the gravestone of Eliav, the family wrote the verse: “There was a great soul in the bundle of life, the Lord your G-d, and the soul of your enemies will be swallowed up in the palm of the calf. “(Samuel I, 25 verse 29).” (Samuel I 25:24).
