Juma’a, Mahmoud


Ben Shem and Sayid. He was born on 3 May 1974 in the village of Aramshe. The brother of Hatem, Hakamat, Muhammad, Subhiyya, Nazmiya, and Juya, Lafi, Ali, Lutfi, Siriya, Adham, Lutfi, Hagazi and Manar. In early December 1991, after successfully completing his studies in the village, Mahmud volunteered for the IDF and was annexed to the Border Police. At the end of December 1995, Mahmoud volunteered for reserve duty on permanent terms, and devoted himself to his role. On March 4, 1996, Mahmoud fell in a battle in Lebanon. Lt. Col. Amir Amir (Hussein), Lieutenant Oren Hellman and Sergeant Muhammad Fuaz were killed. Mahmoud was laid to rest in the military section of his village cemetery, Aramshe. He was twenty-two years old when he fell. Survived by his parents and fourteen brothers and sisters. He was promoted to First Sergeant after his death. In a letter of condolence to the family, IDF Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak wrote: “On March 4, 1996, Mahmoud was killed by a roadside bomb in a pursuit of terrorists in the security zone in southern Lebanon as part of the fighting for the security of the northern communities. Mahmoud served as a detective in the Hiram formation, and was described by his commanders against a dedicated and professional, who volunteered for every mission and helped others in every possible way. Was popular among his commanders and friends. The Israel Defense Forces salute Mahmud and through him the entire Bedouin community for their work in our common struggle for national security. In another letter of condolence, the commander of the unit wrote: “Mahmoud arrived at the unit after his regular service in Rafah. He was an energetic young man and stood out as a brave fighter who volunteered for every mission with joy. Mahmoud loved his friends and was always willing to share every difficulty and help. Mahmud saw his service in the IDF’s military service in the IDF, and said: “The martyrdom of Mahmoud Sa’id Juma’a, He devoted himself to increasing the strength of the IDF and cultivating its spirit, while the good of the state was in front of him. Mahmoud fell and was no longer with us. As he fell, he sacrificed his life in the great and long campaign for the freedom of Israel. His memory will be preserved with us together with the memory of all the heroes of the Israel Defense Forces. “
