Joseph Cohen

Sergeant Joseph Cohen, son of Adele and Eitan was born on May 8, 1999 in Bnei Brak. Eighth child to his parents, brother of Nathaniel, Nachman Shimon, David, Daniel, Leah, Chaya, Hannah and Fege.
On August 4, 2007, Yosef, a resident of the city of Beit Shemesh, enlisted in the IDF, serving as a fighter in the “Netzach Yehuda” battalion of the Kfir Brigade.Corporal Yosef Cohen fell in operational activity on Thursday, December 13, 2018, along with his first sergeant, Yuval Moriosef. Joseph was nineteen when he fell. He was laid to rest at the Har Herzl cemetery in Jerusalem. Survived by a mother and eight brothers and sisters. After his fall he was promoted to sergeant. On his gravestone, his loved ones wrote: “The Bratslav Hasidim fell on the sanctification of God, my fire will be burned until the coming of the Messiah.”
