Joseph, Annette
Daughter of Sarah and Jonathan Zerah. Was born on November 23, 1959 in the city of his book in Morocco. As a young woman, the family immigrated to Israel and settled in Dimona. She did her elementary studies at the Alfasi and Ben Attar schools, and then continued at the Appelman Comprehensive Religious High School, where she was active in youth guidance and spent her time helping children with difficulties. In September 1977, Annette was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces and assigned to the Air Force as a technical officer. After completing compulsory service, she decided to continue serving in the career army. In the summer of 1981, Annette married Yoram and a year later Nir was born. Four years later Tal was born. In 1986 the family moved to Nahariya and two years later Jonathan was born. She did her work with diligence, dedication, initiative, caring and motivation. On April 30, 1992, Annette died in a car accident while she was doing her job and was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Nahariya. She left behind a husband, three children, a mother, three brothers and four sisters – Simi, Yaffa, Malka, Yehoshua, Shalom, Nechama and Rafi. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Annette was always the mediator and soothing agent and served as the mother figure for the soldiers of the brigade.”
