Jerby, Joseph
Son of Fergie and Rachel. He was born on October 11, 1933 in Tripoli, Libya. He graduated from elementary school. From a young age his workman was a silversmith. Even before the establishment of the State of Israel, he and his sister were registered with a group of illegal immigrants, but their immigration did not take place until 1949. Upon arriving in Israel he wanted to volunteer for the army immediately out of a desire to serve the country but was not accepted because of his youth (son of-Zvi was then) He chose to learn a profession and then began to work as a scaffold during the day and in the evenings he would sail in fishing boats, and he would like to be a captain on an Israeli ship. Upon his release he wanted to join the permanent army, but the help to the parents required him to continue his civilian life (since his brother served in the army). He continued his fishing work and then helped his father in his small shop. He fell in battle in the Sinai Campaign on the 25th of Mershvan, 5710 (October 30, 1956). He was buried in the Military Cemetery in Szelech and on the 23rd of Cheshvan 5751 (October 23, 1957) he was transferred to the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He left a wife.
