Jamil, Shoshana


Yona and Shimon, was born in 1929 in Yemen. In 1935, when she immigrated with her parents to Israel, her first question was: “Where is the king of Israel?” From the time she studied in the school and read the Bible and in literature for the youth, she learned that the kingdom of Israel existed in antiquity and now the best people aspire to renew her days as before. She devoted her youthful energies to the service of the Irgun underground, where she was known as Shulamit Deputy, and did not shy away from any difficult and even dangerous task. During the War of Independence, she served as a paramedic in the Etzel forces in battles and positions, in the front line of the battle for Jaffa, and later in the battle for Ramle, where she fell while helping one of the wounded commanders on 24 Iyar 5708 ) Shoshana was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
