Jahran, Rachamim


Son of Sarah and Haim, was born on September 19, 1929 in Jerusalem. His family moved to Tel Aviv and Rahamim grew up in the Hatikva neighborhood, completed elementary school and worked as a plumber. When he reached the age of service, he enlisted in the Hebrew settlement police in Ramat Hakovesh and at the end of his year of service moved to the army. He served in the Alexandroni Brigade and participated in the Arab Tira operations and the conquest of Tantura. On his last vacation, when he saw pedestrians in the city, he said, “I do not care if I get killed, I just get angry at the sight of so many dodgers.” On July 16, 1948, Rachamim was among those driving a cannon to the scene of the battle in the area of ​​Kula, and when he tried to place the cannon, the unit was attacked from the ambush and Rahamim fell and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya.
