Jaeger, Isaac
Son of Sarah and Chaim, was born on January 20, 1921 in the city of Marmaros-Sighet, Transylvania, Romania. He studied at the elementary school and completed six high school grades at the age of 14. Yitzhak received a traditional education. For three years he studied at a yeshiva in the city of Sighet and excelled in his perception and memory. He memorized whole Talmudic masks and amazed his teachers and friends. When the family moved to the city of Timisoara, he also moved with them, and while studying Torah, which he did not neglect, he completed his weaving and for several years was a foreman at the local factory. Since his father was sick, the family economy fell on his shoulder and he did it with devotion and respect. With the outbreak of World War II and with the death of his father, he was concerned about all the needs of the family. In 1945, at the end of the war, he boarded the ship “Katriel Yaffe”. After a clash with the British on the coast of the country, the passengers were deported to Cyprus. Where Isaac spent 10 months. When he was liberated from Cyprus, he settled in Kfar Sava and worked in his profession. Together with his friends he founded a weaving cooperative and even succeeded in supporting his mother, who remained in the Diaspora. In 1947 he married a wife and began to live in a bit of relief. Immediately after the UN General Assembly resolution he joined the army and enlisted in full mobilization, but was released, because his profession was considered essential to the war effort, and he was rejected for his desire to serve with weapons in his hand. He participated in the maintenance of Kfar Saba and in many combat activities in the “Triangle”. On the 6th of Tevet 5709 (7.1.1949) he fell in a difficult battle on the “Triangle” border near Ramat Hakovesh and was succeeded by a wife, Klara and mother On the 19th of Tammuz 5710 (22.6.1950) he was laid to rest in the military cemetery In Nahalat Yitzhak
