Jacoby, Eliahu (‘Alec’),


Son of Rabbi and Teos. He was born in Kiryat Shmona on January 8, 1954. He studied at the Tel Hai elementary school in Kiryat Shmona and later at the Danziger High School, and in 1970 he moved to the “Onim” boarding school in the village – where he studied car electronics for a year, Eliyahu was drafted into the IDF in February 1972, was assigned to the Ordnance Corps and served as an electrician. In January 1973 Eliahu ordered a disaster in which his mother and two sisters died in a fatal car accident. He continued to serve in his unit and was integrated into it without letting anyone around him feel the many problems he was in. On July 17, 1974, Eliyahu died during his service. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shmona. Survived by a father and eight brothers and sisters.
