Jacobson, Yaakov (Abel)

Son of Henrietta and Abraham, was born on October 7, 1928 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In January 1933 his parents immigrated to Israel and settled in the village of Yokneam in the mountains of Ephraim. Jacob was a great mischievous man and his Lev did not last after school. Only at one point did he desire to work in agricultural work, and he devoted himself to him with all his Lev and energy. Jacob worked in all fields and farms, but his main ambition was to become a dairy farmer. “I am a dairy farmer,” he used to say. As he grew up, he was sent to the Kaduri School for Agricultural Training. Where he was already studying, since Ella led him on the path he had chosen and marched him forward towards his goal. In August 1947 he completed his studies and joined the Palmach’s training group in Ramat Yohanan, where he served in the Ha-Emek Battalion, fought in the battles of Balad al-Sheikh, Shfaram, Yehiam, Sejera and the Beit Shean Valley.
