Son of Zvi and Naomi. He was born on the 23rd of Kislev 5703 (23/11/1942) in Rehovot. When he completed his studies in Kfar Galim and reached the age of enlistment, he volunteered to join a combat unit and wanted to be a pilot, but because of a partial flaw in color perception, he was not accepted into this corps and had to give up his dream of flying. But he saw no way and did not even want to get away from the airport – and in August 1961 he volunteered for the paratroopers. Even after his discharge from the IDF, he had a strong connection to aviation, and even when he was young, Amnon tended to dismantle machines, and this “occupation” showed his tendency toward mechanics. He was quiet and humble, and at the same time Simcha and cheerful, even in his youth he would not complain about various difficulties and during his army service he was willing to overcome them with his training was difficult. After his military service, he struggled to acquire a profession and a social status while working and studying in the evenings, but with good spirit and without complaint.
