Jacobs, David


David, son of Anita and Joseph, was born on December 4, 1946, in London, where he graduated from the Glandall High School, where he studied for two years at the Paddington Technical School and was certified as a chemistry technician. He also liked to play tennis and read books, he had a lot of knowledge in history, and he diligently cultivated a large collection of stamps In 1964 he immigrated to Israel and spent six months in an ulpan on Kibbutz Ein-Zvi, where he joined the technical staff of the Technion’s Faculty of Chemistry in Haifa. He was a technician in a laboratory for spectroscopy and was a technician in a laboratory for spectroscopy, developing sophisticated research equipment and building a sophisticated laser device, and helped the research staff find solutions to complex problems. Annette was drafted into the IDF in June 1970 and assigned to the Artillery Corps. After completing a short period of basic training, he graduated cum laude from the Artillery School. After three months he completed his compulsory service and was assigned to a reserve unit. After his discharge from the army, he decided to make a living for the Zionist cause. He traveled to Britain and lectured Jewish youth about life in Israel in order to encourage them to immigrate. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, David was called to his unit and participated in the braking battles against the Egyptians on the Sinai front. In the battle for the northern outpost, which took place on October 10, 1973, David was killed by a mortar shell explosion. He was brought to eternal rest in the Haifa cemetery. He left behind a wife and two daughters and a father. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the commander of the unit wrote: “David was very loved by all his commanders and soldiers, and he did more than was required of him.”
