Jacobin, Ephraim
Son of Nissan and Leah. He was born in 1958 in the city of Teheran in Persia, where his family immigrated to Israel in 1963 and settled in Herzliya. Efraim studied at the AD Gordon Elementary School, completed his studies in the vocational school specializing in carpentry, was active in sports and there was no event in the neighborhood or school where Ephraim did not participate. Ephraim was a loyal and devoted son to his parents, and was a good friend who was always ready to help his fellow students, and was drafted into the army in May 1974 and assigned to the infantry. After his discharge from compulsory service he worked in his profession, and in April of 1979 he was drafted into active reserve duty, and Ephraim fell in the line of duty on the 19th of Nisan (16.4.1979) was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving behind his parents and brothers, and in a letter of condolences to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Efraim was a loyal soldier, devoted and beloved to all his friends and commanders. In memory of him, a Torah scroll for the Eli Cohen synagogue in the Weizmann neighborhood of Herzliya.
